Critiques

Difficult one to critique this, only really have positive things to say about it.

The colour captured is gorgeous and whilst the image doesn't appear to be as sharp as I'd like it I find that rarely interferes with appreciation of documentary photographs like this, it's the subect we're interested in and not the technique. Sadly the watermark get's in the way of the facial detail but I understand why it's there.

Overall it's a really interesting shot, doesn't look posed particularly and you've captured a great expression on the mans face too... plus, on a personal level for you, it's a great memory.

Well done.

When sadhus are among themselves discussing yoga techniques, they must call this "Nr 1 photo pose". Because, in my experience of course, whenever they see a camera pointed at them they immediately resume this pose. To avoid the commonplace 12-makes-a-dozen typical tourist shots resulting from this attitude, and to better capture those incredible faces, it's usually better to break the ice somehow and catch a more natural moment. But OK you took it like this, so let's see what yould be improved. The bright background and fabric played a trick on your camera, hence the blown highlights. The remarkable face is, on the other hand, underexposed. I'd recommend a very tight crop focussing only on the face, but if you want to keep it like this, it's advisable to correct the blown areas. Applying a white, soft light brush with low opacity on the face could work wonders. The overexposed parts on the scarf and in the bottom right corner could be also fixed with a multiply brush or careful clone stamping. Amazing as the colors are, I think that a black and white conversion would be also worth to try.

:) bu fotoğrafların hepsi tamamen gezerken gün içinde spontane çekildi, o tip ekipmanım olmadığı gibi kalabalık ve kaotik hindistanda reflektör kullanmayı becerebilir miydim bilmem :)
